18th Annual Crawfish Boil, June 3, 2006
View the pictures!
Over 450 LSU, Tulane, and Loyola alumni, family, and
friends gathered on June 3 for our annual crawfish boil. The only thing missing
was the crawfish which did not make their connection at the Atlanta airport...
Note from the President, "After I got home from our day at Calamigos Ranch, I was reminded of "The Grinch that Stole Christmas." We had a crawfish boil without crawfish, just like the Who's celebrated Christmas without gifts and decorations. As people were told that we don't have crawfish but we do have beer, barbeque and Lisa Haley and the Zydecats, they just said "Great - we'll have a good time!" I could not have been prouder of the LSU, Tulane and Loyola Alumni. You made me realize that what is most important about our Crawfish Boil is getting together and celebrating our friendships, memories and the culture of Louisiana. We had some drinks, some laughs, some great barbeque and danced to Lisa Haley and the Zydecats and just passed a good time."

The Chapter Organized and Supported Local Fundraisers for Hurricane Katrina Relief
Saturday, Sept 3
With no football game, the Chapter still gathered at Mr. Pockets and raised nearly $10,000 for Hurricane Katrina Relief with
contributions going to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, LSU Student Relief, and
Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
Sunday, September 4
Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen put together an awesome brunch for
Hurricane Relief. They provided the food and drinks, donated
proceeds from the meal, and local merchants provided items for a Silent
Auction. The food was great, the drinks were flowing, the music
and the ambiance was wonderful, and it was all for a good cause.

Geaux South, Young Man. The 20-year-old Californian with the classic French-Louisiana surname
transferred from Cal to LSU this semester. When it's over, he's transferring
back. He switched schools for one reason, and one reason only:
"To get my football fix," Buisson said.
